Sun Valley Ski Guide
(per room)

Sun Valley is a winter wonderland. In some senses, she resembles the Rocky
Mountain resorts but entertainment options melt away during the off-season.
Sun Valley is home to the world’s first ski lift. Although the name is
often used to describe the entire area, it’s technically only the resort
itself that’s named Sun Valley. The resort features dry powder snow on open
treeless slopes and derives her name from the fact that the snow remains
even in the brightest winter sun.

The actual town is named Ketchum, and while winter is the time that most folks visit, it’s a nice summer getaway destination famed as the place were Ernest Hemingway lived out his last two years. Literary types will want to make a pilgrimage to Papa Hemingway’s grave in Ketchum. A summer visit is also the time for cyclists to tackle 30 miles of trails or rafters to white water on the rivers to the north.
